Admission Process

1. How much does the program cost?

Please contact the Undergraduate Recruitment Department for more information about costs.

2. How much is the registration fee?

New students pay a one-time registration fee. Please contact the Undergraduate Recruitment Department for more information about costs.

3. Is the fee refundable in the event yoy do not enroll?

In case you have paid the registration fee and have decided not to enroll at ITAM, the fee is not refundable.

4. What is the deadline to pay the one-time registration fee?

The deadline for payment of the one-time registration fee is specified on the flowchart that the Admissions Department will give you.

5. What is the Orphan's Insurance Policy?

The Orphan’s Insurance Policy is an insurance paid each semester that covers the full cost of tuition in the event of the death of your parent or guardian. You can also get insurance in the event of the death of both parents.

6. What is the Student Social Fee (SAITAM)?

The Student Social Fee (SAITAM) is a payment made every semester by each student directed exclusively to support the various student associations that exist at ITAM. This money is used for different activities such as conferences, courses, gatherings, visits, etc.

Financial Aid

1. How do you apply for a scholarship or financial aid?

To apply for a scholarship or financial aid, you must first be admitted to ITAM and have obtained a minimum score of 1,350 points (out of 1,600 possible) on the Admission Test.

The first step is to complete a financial aid application, submit proof of family income/expenses and pay for a socioeconomic study. The Admissions Office will give you a calendar with the dates to follow.

To apply for a scholarship, you must have a minimum high school grade average of 9.0.

To apply for a financial loan, you must have a minimum high school grade average of 8.0.

2. Can I wait for the results of the scholarship or financial aid application before paying my registration fee?

The results of a scholarship or financial aid application are fully coordinated (in case your documentation is in order) so that you receive them before having to pay the one-time registration fee.

3. If I receive a scholarship or financial aid of any kind, am I expected to provide some kind of service?

At ITAM you do not have to provide any kind of service to maintain your scholarship or loan. You only need to maintain the minimum required grade average, either 8.0 or 9.0, according to each case.

4. If I get any kind of scholarship or financial aid, do I need to maintain a certain grade or average?

If you have a loan, the minimum grade average required is 8.0, and if you have a scholarship the minimum grade average required is 9.0.

Loans can be maintained and renewed throughout the program, while scholarships are available only during the first six semesters of the program.

5. Which aspects do you consider in deciding how much of a scholarship or financial aid ITAM will give me?

To request any type of financial aid, the Scholarship Committee mainly considers two things: the high school grade average and the socioeconomic study. Additionally, and depending on each case, the committee will require some other things.

6. What do the maintenance scholarships (monthly stipends) consist of?

The maintenance scholarships (monthly stipends) are additional grants that ITAM gives to outstanding students who need extra financial support. There are various kinds of monthly stipends and they are only granted to those who already have ITAM’s financial aid for the payment of the tuition fee. 1. When do classes begin or end? When are exams scheduled? Which are rest days?

There you will find all the important dates.

Exams for each course vary depending on the professor and the department. The dates are published at the beginning of the semester.

2. What are joint programs?

Joint programs offer the possibility for students who are interested in obtaining more than one degree to study two programs concurrently. There are several joint programs that you can study, with the possibility of graduating with two professional degrees.  For more information about our programs, please check out the following link:

3. If I enroll in a joint program, do I have to pay for both of them?

Enrolling in a joint program does not mean you have to pay for both of them. The cost will increase depending on the number of additional semesters you have to take. Generally, it will take two or three semesters more than a normal program.

4. Does ITAM have any type of housing?

ITAM does not have housing on campus. However, third parties, the students themselves or ITAM alumni often offer housing. These announcements are posted on campus. For additional information, please contact the Undergraduate Recruitment Department.

5. Are there alternative means of transportation to ITAM if I don't have a car?

ITAM provides a shuttle service that goes to the Barranca del Muerto (line 7, orange) metro station and to the Miguel Ángel de Quevedo (line 3, green) metro station, via the Metrobús stations (La Bombilla and Dr. Gálvez). Similarly, we have an internal transportation system that goes from the Río Hondo campus (undergraduate programs) to the Santa Teresa campus (Graduate programs and Certification Courses). Each one has a schedule and they are totally free.

6. Does ITAM have extra curricular activities? Do they have any cost?

ITAM has various sports, cultural and academic activities that you can complement with your studies.  All of them are optional and are included in the tuition fee.
